The children of the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will now be known as Prince and Princess, as the couple publicly use their daughter’s royal title for the first time when announcing that she has been christened.
They will now be addressed as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The princess was christened at a ceremony in California on Friday, March 3. “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3, by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev. John Taylor”, said a spokesperson for the couple on Wednesday.
Reports says the monarch’s grandchildren can become Princes and Princesses under the royal rule. This means that they were eligible to their titles since their grandfather became King in September. Buckingham palace reportedly said the royal website will be updated to reflect Archie and Lilibet’s titles in “due course.”
The tension between the couple and the royal family brought to question their children’s titles. It is not clear if any family member attended Princess Lilibet’s christening.
