One Man in Life-Threatening Condition Following Daytime Stabbing

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) are investigating a serious-injury altercation that has left a man in life-threatening condition.

Police were called to the 1900 block of 4th Street S.W on Wednesday March 13, 2024, around 3:30pm for reports that two groups of people became involved in a fight that led to stabbing. Police said the injured was discovered nearby and transported to hospital where he remains in life-threatening condition.

According to a news release by the police, all other individuals involved in the altercation had fled prior to police arrival. “Officers are currently canvassing the area for CCTV and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police”, says the release.

Investigators are now looking for a man described by witnesses as indigenous, between 18 and 20 years old, wearing skinny blue jeans with a red bandana in the back pocket and white high tope runners.

They are also searching for a woman described by witnesses as indigenous, between 18 and 20 years old, with long, blond hair. Two other individuals, a man and a woman, both described by witnesses as indigenous and older than the previous two.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity or location of the persons of interest to call 403-266-1234 or drop anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.
