Calgary Police Seek Public Help to Identify Suspect in Poppy Donation Box Theft

The Calgary Police Service are asking the public for help in identifying a man believed to be responsible for a poppy box theft.

In a post on X on Monday, the police said CPS said the theft happened at a McDonald’s located at 13780 Bow Bottom Tr. S.E., around 11:45 a.m on Nov. 10.

The police released a security footage showing the man placing an order at the counter. The suspect then grabbed the poppy donation box and put it in his jacket. The man left the restaurant after receiving his order.

Police described the man as around 50 years old, with greying beard, wearing glasses, a black hat with a poppy on it, a blue winter jacket, a purple t-shirt, black pants and black shoes with orange laces.

CPS have asked anyone with information about the man’s identity to contact the police by calling 403-266-1234 or submitting anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, online or through the P3 Tips app.
