Burna Boy, Uncle Waffles, Among Africans to Perform at 2023 Coachella Festival

Nigeria’s Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy and South Africa’s Lugelihle Zwane, known by her DJ name, Uncle Waffles will be performing at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.

The festival’s promoters, Goldenvoice dropped the lineup on it official Instagram page. It named the Afro beats giant, Burna Boy as one of the musical acts for this year’s festival. Uncle Waffles described as ‘amapiano’s leading lady’ posted the lineup on her Twitter page with the caption: “Crying… Vomiting… Screaming!”

The 2023 edition of the festival is scheduled to run from April 14 to 16 and April 21 to 23. The pair will be joined by other African performers like DJ Kyle Watson, Black Sherif, Black Coffee (DJ), Jupiter & Okwess, Tobe Nwigwe and Idris Elba.

Headliners include South Korean girl group, Blackpink, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, and American wonderboy Frank Ocean.

Coachella is one of the most popular global festivals showcasing popular and established musical artists and groups.
