With her unparalleled determination, remarkable talent, and commitment to diversity in sport, Dearing has become a woman crush for many, inspiring people around the globe.

Hailing from Birmigham, England, Dearing has shattered barriers in the world of swimming. Dearing is an Olympic Marathon Swimmer and global adversity advocate. As the first black woman to represent Great Britain in the Olympic swimming events in 2021.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Dearing made history as she competed in the women’s 10km open water swimming event. While she narrowly missed out on a medal, her presence at the Games was a triumph in itself, breaking down barriers and inspiring millions around the world.

Dearing is not just breaking records, she is breaking stereotypes and paving the way for future generations. She co-founded the Black Swimming Association in 2020, a charity founded to encourage swimming among BME communities in Britain.

Throughout her career, Dearing has been a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in swimming. She’s worked tirelessly to promote access to the sport for underrepresented communities, recognizing the transformative power of swimming to change lives.

Presently, Dearing launched the Swim With Your Meaning (SWYM) Academy in Accra, Ghana. In her words, “I have created SWYM to help spark excitement in the activity of swimming and hopefully encourage people to step into new depths. With an ambition to support up to 250 individuals over the next four years.”
