Stabbed Calgary Student Prompts Lockdown at Father Lacombe High School

One person has been taken into custody following the incident

Calgary police have taken one person into custody following a stabbing at Father Lacombe High School on Thursday morning.

According to the CPS, officers were called to the school grounds around 11 a.m. Police found a male student suffering from minor injuries and placed the school on lockdown as they searched for the suspect, who was believed to be a fellow student.

The suspect was found and the lockdown was called off. Police say there was no threat to other students or members of the public.

In a statement released by the school on Thursday, it confirmed that police have “determined that the school is safe and all other students and staff are safe.” Classes resumed on Thursday afternoon. “The safety of our students is paramount to all members of our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved”, said the statement.
