Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest reigning monarch and former head of commonwealth, who died peacefully at the age of 96 at her estate in Balmoral, Scotland died of old age. The queen died on September 8, 2022 after 70 years on the throne.
Buckingham Palace released a statement 12:30pm on September 8, that doctors were concerned for the Queen’s health and had placed her under medical supervision. Her death was officially announced 6”30pm the same day.
The Queen carried out her last official duty, appointing Britain’s Prime Minister, Liz Truss, two days before she died.
Her death certificate shows she dies at 3:10pm local time. The certificate also shows her death was registered by her daughter, Princess Anne, on September 16.
