Eight people have been left displaced following a basement fire in Panorama Hills on Tuesday.
Firefighters were reportedly called to the 100 block of Panorama Hills Manor N.W. at 2:15 pm. According to the Calgary Fire Department, a call was made to 911 where it was reported that there were possibly two adults and two children trapped in the basement.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and officials say no one was found inside the house. Also, no injuries were reported.
However, the fire department said the damage to the basement was significant with smoke damage to the rest of the house. Calgary Fire Department investigators continue to work to determine the cause of the fire and it is unknown if there were working smoke alarms in the home at the time.
