K-Pop Star, Lee Jihan Dies in Seoul Halloween Stampede

Lee Jihan who is popularly known for his part in South Korean reality show Produce 101has died in the Itaewon Halloween stampede. He also acted in the k drama “Today was Another Namhyun Day”.

The late actor who died in the stampede was reportedly near Itaewon-dong, in Seoul on October 29 and is confirmed to be part of the over 150 victims of the Halloween stampede.

Jihan first appeared in Product 101 season 2, which aired in 2017, before he successfully moved on to acting. Former Produce 101 contestants Park Heeseok, Kim Do-hyun and Cho Jin Hyung have paid tribute to the late 25 year old.

Although, no actual cause of the stampede is known, some have suggested that it may have been caused by the announcement that an unidentified celebrity was in the area. The unfortunate incident also led to the death of 26 foreign officials. The government has now canceled all Halloween themed events.

Allkpop reports that Jihan’s mortuary will be set up at the funeral hall of Myongi Hospital, and the funeral will be held on November 1.
