Elon Musk has said that he will file a lawsuit against a Twitter user who has been tracking the movement of his private jet in real-time. According to Musk, this puts his son at risk, said Sahara Reporters.
The account @Elonjet which has now been suspended, was managed by Jack Sweeney and it had over half a million followers. Twitter also suspended his private account, @JxckSweeney, on Wednesday. The suspension comes after Musk had promised not to suspend the account after purchasing Twitter, saying it was part of his commitment to free speech.
Musk had Tweeted on Wednesday that “any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info.” Doxxing is the act of revealing someone’s personal information online.
Musk tweeted “Last night car carrying lil X in LA was followed by crazy stalker (thinking it was me), who later blocked car from moving & climbed onto hood. Legal action is being taken against Sweeney & organizations who supported harm to my family.”
Musk had reportedly offered Sweeney $5,000 to take down the account, which he turned down. According to Sahara Reporters, Twitter accounts tracking the jets of Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates were also suspended.
