The death of Chadwick Boseman, the star who played T’Challa, the Black Panther threw both cast and fans into grief. According to Sky News, Director Ryan Coogler at first, thought of quitting filmmaking during the trauma of it all, but once he decided to continue with his craft, he then had to figure out a way to make the movie without its star.
This results in the highly anticipated sequel following a tribute to Chadwick, with a story of loss, grief and lots of action and surprises along the way. Lupita Nyong’o told Sky News that “it felt hollow without Chadwick”.
“But I was so relieved that we didn’t have to leave our grief at home. This set was built to explore grief. The story was built to explore grief. Each character is going through grief in different ways. Playing Nakia was actually extremely therapeutic, playing her really was healing”, she said.
The movie is set to be released in the UK on November 11, 2022. @blackpanther @lupitanyogo @ryan_._coogler
