Gabrielle Hutchinson, one of the four hospitalized victims of Asake’s Brixton concert has been reported dead. The deceased, 23, was on the security team for the event as a contractor, she died in the early hours of Monday.
Reports says a third woman, aged 21, remains in critical condition in the hospital. Another victim, 33-year-old Rebecca Ikumelo, a mother of two from Newham, East London, died from her injuries on Saturday.
The police said all three, who were critically injured in the stampede were in the foyer of the Brixton 02 Academy, when ticketless fan tried to force their way in. Speaking on the death of Hutchinson, 02 Academy tweeted, “Our heartfelt condolences are with Gabrielle Hutchinson’s family and friends. We continue to be devastated by this tragic situation and are fully supporting the ongoing investigation.”
Report says that detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continue to investigate the incident, and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
Asake who apologized about the outcome of the stampede, and sent condolences to Rebecca Ikumelo’s family has yet to speak on the death of Hutchinson.
