There are many form of modeling that affords you the opportunity to be imaginative and explore the diverse artistic options within the fashion industry. You may need to babble in a few before you find the right the fit for you. These are some of the types of modeling in the fashion industry.

Fashion (Editorial) Model: These are models who work for top fashion magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Elle and so on. They are also called Editorial Models. They work closely with top fashion designers to tell stories through pictures. The standard height requirement for a fashion model is 5’9 to 6 feet for females, and 5’11 to 6’3 for males. They follow a rather strict lifestyle of diet and fitness.

Runway Models: These are models found on the runway that are hired to showcase a designer’s new collections. The required height for this modeling is 5’9. They are also mostly required to follow a diet.

Commercial Model: They are mostly not restricted by age, size or height. Commercial models work in varying companies, either for adverts, marketing, food, cosmetics, anything. They are sought for according to the client’s requirements and preferences.

Fit Model:  Fit models work behind the scene to help fashion designers get the right size and fitting before the garment is manufactured. They differ in sizes and shapes, depending on the designers’ preference and the garment being manufactured. They do not need to have the runway model figure, but they are required to maintain a consistent body weight.

Lingerie Model: These models help show off swimsuits, lingerie, and sleep wear and so on. They do not have height specifications, but they are required to be curvy. Lingerie models can also explore their versatility as they are required to constantly maintain their diet and body shape and size. They can walk runways or appear in commercial catalogs.
